About us
The purpose of Christian Healthcare Leaders (CHL) is to develop Christ-centered relationships among future healthcare leaders and to foster professional development through exposure to Christian professionals in healthcare and science. Through growing in our relationship with Him, learning from Christians working in the healthcare profession, building community with believers in the body of Christ, and seeking God's plan for our lives and work, we ultimately strive to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the students and faculty at Texas A&M University and the world.
We are a non-denominational organization with the following "Statement of Beliefs"
- God: There is one God who exists eternally in three distinct persons -- the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (John 14:9; Romans 8:9-10; Colossians 2:9)
- The Bible: The Bible is God's written revelation to man, recorded by men under the direction of the Holy Spirit. It is wholly reliable, and inerrant in its original manuscripts. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:10-21)
- Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is God the Son. He came to earth to be the substitutionary atoning sacrifice (payment for the judgment) of man's sin. He was both fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, was buried, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:19-20; Hebrews 9:24-26)
- The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is at work in the world to convict men of sin and bring them to Christ for salvation. He also comes to dwell inside of believers when they place their faith in Christ, causing them to be born again spiritually. In the life of a believer He comforts, reveals truth, confirms sonship, intercedes in weakness, and provides the power to live a life that pleases God. (John 14:16, 15:8-11, 16:13; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:15-16, 8:26-27; Ephesians 1:13-14; Titus 3:5-6)
- Salvation: God created man in His own image for His own glory and pleasure, and He constantly pursues a relationship with him. Man sinned and incurred the judgment and wrath of God, but God has provided a way of salvation for him through the person and work of Jesus Christ. Men can experience forgiveness of their sins and peace with God only through placing their faith in what Christ has done on their behalf, apart from any "good works" they may do on their own. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:21-30, 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9).
